The 2004 Regional Competition took place in Hemel Hempstead in May, for clubs headed by chief instructor Mr Sergiew.
Gary, Scott and Paul from Northampton South competed in the sparring competitions. Unfortunately, it was a busy day and we were only able to get photos of Gary and Paul. Apologies for the quality of some of the photos, the lighting wasn't so good in the sports centre.
Scott won his first match in the men's middleweight blackbelt point stop sparring, but was out in the second round.
Gary (pictured below in red pads) won the gold in the men's heavyweight red belt point stop sparring with 4 fights in total:
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Paul (pictured below in white suite and pads) won the gold in the men's welterweight yellow belt point stop sparring (he admits through a lot of luck, he got byes through to the final due to injuries and missing people, and was up against a tired opponent!):
