The 2006 TAGB English Championships took place in the Coventry Skydome arena on Sunday 26th March.
Paul (pictured below with a red sash) from Northampton South, took part in the men's blue belt continuous sparring event. His first round ending in a draw, and during the extra time period he eventually lost.
 
 
 
 
For Alan, a blackbelt from Northampton South, this was his first time attending the competition as an official/referee rather than a competitor, and he thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
The Skydome arena is an ice-hockey stadium first and foremost. When the ice is covered with flooring, the place is ideal for a tournament, with space for 15 competition areas arranged in a 5 wide 3 deep grid, encircled by raised spectators seats.
 
The pictures above were taken towards the end of a TAGB tournament day back in 2004 - when it was less busy! These tournaments really give you an idea of the sheer numbers and quality of the TAGB community.
